Network Software Engineer

Position Duties

Realcast is looking for a network software engineer who has a passion and confirmed experience in developing real-time 3d interactive experiences on platforms like game consoles, smartphones, VR/AR headsets. And who loves to write compact, fast and reusable code in a search for zero latency interaction between the software and the user.

Key responsibilities
  • make Realcast experiences run smoothly on selected platforms
  • write key software components of Realcast content production pipeline
  • profile, maintain and optimize the network stack
  • write gameplay code for immersive interactions
  • help the dev-team grow by sharing experience, technical knowledge and ideas
  • team player who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features

Candidate Profile

Required technical skills & experience
  • bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of programming experience using network middlewares for multiplayer games, matchmaking, servers setup & running, Azure, Google Cloud or AWS
  • strong network skills
  • excellent skills in c# and c++, with an understanding and passion for readable, robust code and best practices
  • comprehensive knowledge of performance considerations, memory management, multiple processor use, and runtime optimizations
  • strong experience with HoloLens, ARCore, ARKit, Tango
  • strong experience with middleware game engines (Unity 3D, Unreal, ..)
  • strong experience using tools such as Git, Jira, Perforce
  • great team spirit and human skills

Additional Information

We are looking for a talented programmer to strengthen the team to provide online functionality for In da Hoop ! an innovative VR game using hand-tracking on Oculus Quest and Steam VR launched in June 2021.
