For the development of their next game Windblown, Motion Twin is looking for a Technical Artist with strong programming skills and a strong artistic sensibility. Working closely with the rest of the team, this person will be primarily responsible for envisioning, architecting, implementing, and maintaining the graphical aspects of the game.
As a cooperative, Motion Twin currently consists of 8 partners who oversee all aspects of the games developed, beyond their technical roles. Each partner has a strong impact on the direction of the projects and the company as a whole. Due to our unique structure, our goal is also to find our next partner. Therefore, the role goes beyond technical responsibilities and requires an interest in all aspects of the position, such as other aspects of the game and the company's strategy. The candidate should be able to express themselves on a multitude of topics that extend beyond their basic areas of expertise and demonstrate initiative and autonomy in any domain.
Responsibilities :
- Transcribe the stylized Art Direction of Windblown into the game engine.
- Define, architect, and implement the necessary tools and pipelines related to the graphical aspects of the project in Unity, in close collaboration with the art team, level designers, and engine programmers : decoration systems, visual effects, rendering, lighting and post-production, VFX and shaders, animation and rigging.
- Maintain, debug, and optimize these tools according to different constraints and/or platforms (PC, consoles, mobile), while preserving the artistic vision of the project.
- Stay constantly up to date and be proactive in implementing solutions, being the reference point for technical matters related to visuals and animation.
- Plan and break down tasks according to collectively defined objectives.
- Show interest and take a position on topics beyond the current project (organization, company strategy, etc.)
