Hello ! We are Novaquark, the developers behind Dual Universe, an ambitious sci-fi MMO that features a continuous, single-shard game world shared by every player at once. What sets our game apart is the level at which players can freely modify that shared world to create structures, spaceships, and even entire cities, giving birth to empires and civilizations. Dual Universe focuses on emergent gameplay, and features player-driven economy, politics, trade, and warfare.

Our dream is to create the first-ever true metaverse, a shared digital world where players can live alternate lives among the stars. We are inspired by books like Ready Player One, and envision a world that sci-fi fans have been dreaming of all their lives.

The company has developed several proprietary technologies for the game, such as its innovative Continuous Single-Shard Cluster (CSSC) server solution, as well as a state of the art voxel engine and procedural generation tools.

Community Manager (FR)

Position Duties

We are looking for a qualified Community Manager to join our team based in Paris. In this role, you will act with the existing Community Management team as the face and voice of the studio in front of the Community. If you are experienced in community events, community communication, and have a passion for MMORPGs and Science-Fiction, we would like to meet you.

Responsibilities :
  • Help grow and nurture the French-speaking Dual Universe community by directly engaging with players (especially - but not limited to - official Forums and Discord in the French sections, collegially on Reddit and YouTube)
  • Translate in French game announcements and share them with the Community in line with Novaquark's overall communications strategy.
  • Translate and maintain (in French) Community FAQs, Guidelines and rules.
  • Occasionally translate marketing announcements in French.
  • Monitor and report on Community feedback and online reviews on the French Market.
  • Help in online/offline events to boost Community activity.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure communication consistency.
  • Track French-speaking influencers/VIPs, and interact with them when necessary.
  • Communicate with the Development team to stay up-to-date on new game features.
  • Build positive relationships with Dual Universe players and potential players.
  • Stay aligned with the rest of the Community Management and Live Operations Teams as well as the Moderation Staff on the Forum and Discord to ensure consistency.

Candidate Profile

Requirements :
  • At least 3 years of proven work experience as a Community Manager in video games, preferably on community-driven franchises and/or games.
  • Experience in launching community initiatives (e.g. launching or maintaining a Referral program, creating polls on popular topics, writing an email newsletter, etc).
  • Be strongly teamwork-oriented with other Community Managers.
(internal team communication is mandatory)
  • High level English speaker, and good verbal communication and writing skills, to be able to communicate with the other Community - Managers of the team.
  • Native level French speaker, and excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to keep your cool, and quick to react in a crisis situation in the Community.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of Sandbox MMO games (like EVE Online or Elite : Dangerous) is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of Kickstarter projects, their usual constraints/challenges and being able to adapt the communication according to this kind of contest is a big plus.
  • A real taste for Sci-Fi and good pop-culture knowledge would be appreciated as well.
  • Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a people person' with great empathy and customer service skills, and have the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community. You should also have great teamwork skills, to act consistently with other Community Managers on various tasks.
