We are building a deeply immersive gaming virtual world metaverse where creators get the chance to make games next to gaming giants and brands such as Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, The Smurfs and more. The Sandbox has more than 5 million accounts created and is a leading actor in the Web3, Metaverse and blockchain gaming industries.
We are looking for a quality-driven and innovative Level Designer to join our highly motivated and experienced Art team in Lille.
What you'll be doing :
Assist the ART team in Lille by integrating and translating their concepts (Proof of Concept - POC) directly into the Game Maker.
Understand and deepen knowledge of GM tools, continuously test tools for improvement, unlock new emerging gameplays through logic assets, rule systems, and other game mechanics.
Create experiences by terraforming via the GM or any other voxel modeling tool.
Craft experiences by efficiently using available assets to achieve a satisfactory level of level art (good aesthetic / performance ratio).
Ensure the delivery of levels created with the Game Maker and provide support to internal teams in their projects as needed.
Balance and debug these game levels in close collaboration with development and quality assurance teams.
Review creator experiences and suggest corrections.
Propose improvements for The Sandbox Game Maker based on your experience.
Any other tasks that may be requested by the Company and fall within the scope of your qualifications.
What we are looking for :
A minimum of 2 years experience in Level Design
Knowledge about general Game Design and Level Design concepts
Experience designing avatar-centric 3D levels
Experience working with in-house editors (Unity or similar)
Experience working with MMO RPGs or Adventure games
Basic programing or logic skills
You might also have :
Played other UGC games where you create your own levels (including mechanics) such as Minecraft or Roblox.
An eye for aesthetics, knowing what makes an environment appealing and a story compelling.
Having coordinated a team in the past.
Having been involved in UX processes for an editing tool.
