GDevelop

We build GDevelop, a "no-code", open-source and easy to learn game engine. It's fast to get started and we have an audience ranging from young children to hobbyists, indie game studios or even big brands - with games published on the app stores, Steam, web stores... one even reached 1M+ downloads on iOS and Android a few months ago.

We're a small, remote first team (where you can choose to work at home or in a co-working space - we cover this for you). We believe in hiring people with great autonomy, passion, who are humble, giving attention to details and who can bring their experience to the team.

Our game creator community love GDevelop - it's important that we are all involved in the community in the team to ensure we keep building user empathy and make sure the community can thrive. We have strong roots in open-source - and try to keep as much things as we do public and open!

Permanent contract Remote (00)

Position Duties

GDevelop is a "no-code", open-source and easy to learn game engine. It's fast to get started and we have an audience ranging from young children to hobbyists, indie game studios or even big brands - with games published on the app stores, Steam, web stores... one even reached 1M+ downloads on iOS and Android a few months ago.

Want to help us building the app and the community ? Cool, keep reading !

Join our team to :
  • Create bite-sized videos, tutorials, game examples or reusable game parts that are all needed for our community to learn how to create better games (and faster ! ) using our game engine.
  • Organise the learning content for our community : documentation, tutorials, our public wiki... inside the app and on the website.
  • Identify interesting themes and ideas for new tutorials/videos - and create them.
  • Lead 3rd party technical writers to accelerate the growth of this knowledge base.

Candidate Profile

We're searching for a non technical person - you don't need to have programming or development skills. Instead, being fond of gaming and ready to learn how to build games in GDevelop is sufficient (and will help you empathize with our users and community).

You need to have proven experience building excellent videos or tutorials.

You'll have a great autonomy in what you build and will take the lead in building our YouTube channel, our documentation, consolidating the existing tutorials... and anything you think is necessary to help people learn quickly how to build amazing games.

Additional Information

Because we're open-source first, our community is also very involved, will love to see what we're doing and will even contribute to what you're doing.

You'll work as part of a remote team (we're, unsurprisingly, on Discord - not Slack ! ), in a startup backed by what we think are the best VCs and angels in Europe, and have a decisive impact on the product and the success of our mission : democratizing game creation.

Provide

Send us a short introductory note (English or French). Explain what experience you have in video creation, tutorial writing and educational content creation.
Bonus point if you've tried to use GDevelop or are a user already !

We look forward to hearing from you
