Description du stage

We offer an exciting Level Design Assistant internship for students wishing to strengthen their hands-on experience in mobile game development.

As a Level Design Assistant, you will be involved in the creation, iteration, and balancing of levels for existing and upcoming titles.

$Responsibilities

Level Design & Production
  • Design, prototype, and balance levels for mobile games currently in production.
  • Build level blockouts using internal tools, respecting gameplay rules, pacing, and difficulty curves.
  • Integrate gameplay elements (obstacles, enemies, interactions, triggers...) according to project needs.
  • Iterate on levels based on team feedback, player data, and test sessions.

Game Design Support
  • Work closely with Game Designers to align level intentions with the game's systems and mechanics.
  • Propose gameplay ideas or level interactions based on existing design pillars.
  • Help refine difficulty progression and learning curves.

QA & Playtesting
  • Test levels daily to ensure quality, clarity, and accessibility.
  • Identify issues related to level flow, bugs, or readability, and report them clearly.
  • Participate in playtest sessions and analyze player behavior to improve level quality.

Collaboration
  • Work with artists to make sure levels respect artistic direction while remaining functional and readable.
  • Communicate with developers when tools or level-related features require iteration.

Profil recherché

Skills & Knowledge
  • A strong interest in Level Design and game feel.
  • Understanding of layout, pacing, and player psychology fundamentals.
  • Ability to conceive fun gameplay situations using existing tools.
  • Basic experience with an editor (Unity, Unreal ...).
  • Good analytical skills and a taste for solving design problems.

Soft Skills
  • Curious, open-minded, and methodical.
  • Comfortable receiving and giving feedback.
  • Able to clearly communicate your intentions, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, iterative environment.

Bonus
  • Knowledge of scripting basics (C#..)
  • Experience building levels for personal projects, game jams, or mods.
  • Interest in casual and mobile game pacing.
