Hectiq is an independent video game studio founded by industry seniors in 2023, located in Bordeaux, France.
We are driven by the ambition of making unique and engaging games of various genres.
We emphasize creativity, gameplay, and technical innovation.
Our first title, Los Pingheros, is available on PC and Nintendo Switch. We are now working on Painted Kingdoms, a strategy game currently playable as a demo on Steam.

We are looking for a QA intern to join us in Bordeaux and work alongside the team on Painted Kingdoms, our strategy game currently in development. A demo is available on Steam, and we expect you to have played it before applying. You will be part of a five person studio, which means your bug reports go straight to the people who wrote the code and get fixed within days.

$Ideally, you ...

• have completed or are completing a QA or game production training, or can demonstrate equivalent hands on testing experience
  
• write bug reports that are clear, reproducible and concise
  
• are proactive by nature : you come with findings and proposals rather than waiting for a task list
  
• are a strategy game player with a real culture of the genre (please mention it on your resume)
  
• have played our demo and arrive with a list of issues or friction points you found
  
• are comfortable repeating the same sequence dozens of times without losing precision
  
• are open to feedback and able to integrate it into your wor
  

$Nice to have

• working knowledge of Unity, including the Editor and the Console
  
• comfortable with Git
  
• advanced Excel user
  
• experience with a bug tracker (Jira, Notion, Trello or equivalent)
  
• have already tested a strategy game, including student or personal projects
  
• able to design a test plan and run a playtest session with external players
  
• interest in game balance and in reporting on it with data
