3D Technical Artist

Position Duties

Virtuos Paris is looking for a Technical Artist to be part of our creative team working on ambitious AAA games for current and next gen consoles as well as PC. This is a full-time position based in our Cergy's office which involves working in an international environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient person to be a bridge between our creative artists, talented programming team and external outsource art teams.

Responsibilities :
  • Help to create art pipelines and assist for creating, processing, and maintaining assets during early stages of development.
  • Solve challenging technical issues in the 3d asset pipeline.
  • Implement and incorporate feedback from Art Director and other Leads into the project.
  • Constantly adapt and learn new techniques and processes to face production constraints.
  • Communicate with in-house and outsource teams the specific construction needs of assets for production for asset delivery.
  • Proactively use knowledge and experience to identify and solve problems before they affect the development team.
  • Bring innovation and resolution to technical problems and challenges throughout production.
  • Implement new techniques that increase art quality and efficiency across disciplines.
  • Communicate solutions to art and programming teams, ability to collaborate effectively with other team disciplines.
  • Provide hands on support for artists and engineers in order to validate performance and art quality standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Be comfortable with at least one 3D program (3DSMax, Maya, Blender).
  • 3D modelling skills (props, weapons, characters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of working with real-time engines like Unreal, Unity, Cry Engine etc.
  • 2+ years of applicable professional experience as a technical artist with knowledge of engines and art pipelines.
  • Understanding of video game development processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of rendering budgets and other technical issues related to performance in realtime engines.
  • Superb problem-solving skills, both creative and technical.
  • Experience with source control management.
  • Great organizational and communication skills (English).
  • Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback.
