QA Director (Europe)

Position Duties

We are looking for candidate capable of leading our QA teams in European studios (Paris, Lyon, Dublin), coordinating their efforts among multiple projects, managing external QA partners, establishing and improving testing guidelines and ensuring teams are properly staffed and trained.

Main responsibilities :
  • Report to Group Head of Quality.
  • Assist in the growth and development of the team members. Participating in reviews and evaluations.
  • Ensuring the quality of the game deliverables and report status, issues, and mitigation
  • Working with producers and other stakeholders to define testing plans and processes for major projects (both for embedded Dev QA and external General QA).
  • Managing relationship with external QA studios and partners for key European projects.
  • Improving operational efficiency and effectiveness of the quality. verification strategy by understanding current practices and introducing new strategies.
  • Being able to get hands-on if project / team situation requires.
  • Proactively contributing to development and deployment of QA tools.
  • Ensuring excellent communication, positive working relationships and teamwork within the development & QA team and across disciplines.
  • Keeping abreast of current trends in the marketplace especially regarding best practices, tools and processes.

Candidate Profile

Required skills / experience :
  • At least 4 years of experience in QA manager / lead / director role in the game industry (experience from Dev QA role a big plus)
  • Proven track record of shipped (preferable AAA) games on multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile) in lead role.
  • Project and people management skills
  • Good knowledge of testing methodology as well as required software (JIRA / TTP, Excel, PowerPoint...)
  • Good knowledge of QA tools covering different areas of development pipeline, their design & functionality
  • Working knowledge of SCRUM and Agile practices.
  • Proficient in English (ability to speak French and/or Chinese is big plus).
  • Work well / respond to pressure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Think critically and apply analytical skills in resolving complex issues.
  • Quickly master proprietary tools and development processes.
  • Strong videogames knowledge.
